Warning: Sterling Point season 1 spoilers ahead!
Sterling Point fans are already itching for a second season of the coming-of-age series following season 1’s dramatic finale.
The Prime Video show centers on New York City-raised twins Annie (Ella Rubin) and Connor (Keen Ruffalo) who suddenly inherit a Canadian island, Sterling Point, from their estranged grandfather. However, they soon learn that local Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle) is also an heir to the property.
Season 1 — which includes eight episodes that were all released on Aug. 5 — ended with their family’s secrets unveiled, including the revelation that Ramona is the biological daughter of Annie and Connor’s late adoptive mother, making Ramona their half-sister.
But the season also leaves much to the imagination as Annie remains in a love triangle, Connor decides to search for his biological parents behind Annie’s back and a temporary decision on the ownership of Sterling Point is made. In August, creator Megan Park told the Los Angeles Times she has “a whole bunch of ideas left” for a possible season 2.
So, will there be a Sterling Point season 2? Here’s everything to know about the future of the show.

Prime Video has not officially renewed Sterling Point for season 2. However, Park has expressed interest in continuing Annie and Ramona’s journeys.
“There’s a lot between these two young women having now experienced each other’s lives fully that is going to be really interesting to explore and pick up, hopefully, if we get the chance to,” she told the Los Angeles Times.
Park told Deadline in August that by the end of the series, Annie and Ramona have “completely swapped views on what [Sterling Point] means to them,” which would be a “really great jumping off point” for a potential season 2.

Sterling Point‘s debut season ended with major revelations.
Namely, Ramona learned her biological dad is Steven (Jay Duplass), who is Annie and Connor’s adoptive father.
Annie, Connor and Ramona also find out their late mother, Goldie, died while giving birth to Ramona. But before she died, she had an affair with a man named Joe (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and had her heart set on leaving Steven to raise all three of her kids in Sterling Point.
While the season 1 finale answered significant questions, it left plenty up in the air. In the romance department, Annie didn’t officially end up with Rory (Daniel Quinn-Toye) or Ellis (Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie), with whom she struck up a love triangle.

Meanwhile, Connor decided to search for his and Annie’s biological parents — without telling Annie about his plans.
As for the island’s ownership, Annie, Connor and Ramona decided to keep Sterling Point for at least one more year before selling it. This allowed Annie to stay on the island for longer, while Ramona moved to N.Y.C. for a new adventure and to spend more time with Steven.

Park is keen to keep Sterling Point going.
Along with following Annie and Ramona’s journeys and what will happen with the Sterling Point property, Park “would love to spend more time with the parents,” she told Entertainment Weekly in August.
“Specifically, who’s Oona’s (Bo Bragason) mom? It would be so interesting to bring that character in,” she added.
Connor’s choice to connect with his biological parents also offers another parental jumping-off point.
“There’s a lot of mommy and daddy issues being threaded throughout the show,” Park told the outlet. “There’s a lot there.”
The parent-child relationships aren’t the only ones ripe for unpacking. Park has also said she’d like to bring back Katie Douglas’ character Clem, who is a friend of Annie’s from N.Y.C.
“The whole day I was like, if we do a Season 2, we have to bring this character back,” Park told Deadline of shooting Douglas’ scenes with Rubin. “She’s so good, and their dynamic was hilarious, and [Katie] could really improv spar so well with Ella.”
What has Ella Rubin said about returning for season 2?

Rubin is rooting for a second season of Sterling Point.
“I don’t know what I can tease, not because it’s a secret, but because there’s so many amazing routes that Annie’s journey can take,” Rubin told TODAY.com about a potential season 2 in August.
She continued, “I truly don’t know what’s going to happen. And that’s both exciting and nerve-racking because she feels like someone who’s almost become a sort of friend of mine.”
Rubin added that she hopes Annie and Ramona “are happy with their choices” but “that it leads to some more, you know, fun conflict.”
