With proceeds from his late mother Princess Diana’s memorial fund, Prince Harry has donated to the conservation group Elephants Without Borders.

The money was used to fit satellite-tracking collars to two “magnificent” elephants in the Okavango Delta.

The elephants were named after his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

With proceeds from his late mother Princess Diana’s memorial fund, the Duke of Sussex has donated to the conservation group Elephants Without Borders.

According to The Telegraph, a statement read, “In accordance with a request by The Duke of Sussex, half of the net proceeds received by the Diana Fund since 18 December 2019 are being donated to a charity of The Duke’s choosing. In 2025, all funds will be donated to Elephants Without Borders.”

Dr. Mike Chase, founder of the charity and friend of Harry’s, spoke with The Telegraph about the donation.

“I am deeply grateful that he is supporting us through the Diana Memorial Fund, it means a great deal to us and to the elephants we are working so hard to protect,” he said.

Dr. Chase also shared that Elephants Without Borders used the money to fit satellite-tracking collars to two “magnificent” elephants in the Okavango Delta, which they named after Harry and Meghan Markle’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. According to the outlet, Archie chose a blue collar, while Lilibet opted for purple.

“We wanted to pass on that legacy to the kids, in the hope that [Harry’s] passion for Okavango and Botswana would rub off on them, and to allow them to monitor the elephants in real time across the world,” he added.

Harry and Meghan’s connection to Elephants Without Borders goes back many years. In 2017, the couple visited Botswana and assisted Dr. Chase to aid in the conservation effort, per People.

Before Elephants Without Borders, Harry initially donated money from his mother’s memorial fund to Sentebale, the HIV/AIDS charity he co-founded in 2006.

But he reportedly split from the organization in 2025 over a leadership dispute. And in January, sources close to the charity said that his relationship with Sentebale had been “completely extinguished.”
