“Loosely, between, we reunited during the pandemic to do a *Parent Trap* reunion with Katie Couric, so I saw her then. But, that was online,” said Hendrix, adding that a text from longtime friend, collaborator, and* Freakier Friday* helmer Nisha Ganatra brought her and Lohan back together on the set of the 2025 comedy at Disney.
“She lives on the other side of the world and has a family and is busy. We both have full lives, but particularly through social media and texting, we’re staying in touch, which is quite lovely. I’m so happy for her and where she is in her life. It’s nice, in these new chapters of our lives, to be in contact,” Hendrix explained at the time.
Of a potential *Parent Trap* sequel amid the success of* Freakier Friday*, Hendrix said that “there are always rumors,” but that she’s not sure where they come from — and that, at least in mid-2025, she hadn’t heard “anything official” about another *Parent Trap* movie.
“How would you bring Meredith Blake back into the sequel?” she questioned, referencing the fact that the girls’ dad broke up with her in the first film’s finale. “But, I’d be so crushed if she wasn’t part of a sequel,” Hendrix admitted, noting that she’d “hands down, in the right situation” join a sequel if Disney wanted her to.
