Donald Trump’s loyal aide Natalie Harp has found herself in the limelight over her devotion to the president and always being present at his side. Their relationship came under scrutiny when she was chosen to accompany the president during his secret plane swap in Turkey following assassination threats from Iran.

Critics questioned their bond, even giving her nicknames, including calling her a human “binkie.” Recently, Preston Harp, Natalie Harp’s estranged brother, shared his thoughts on why he believes her sister is so loyal to the president, explaining that he believes it is about more than looks.

On August 18, during a segment on CNN’s OutFront, Preston Harp appeared as a guest on the show, talking about his sister’s close relationship with Donald Trump. Host Erin Burnett noted that the 80-year-old first learned about Harp when she credited him with saving her life after her battle with bone cancer.

The host played several clips, showcasing that Harp had been singing praises about how Trump had saved her life, including one where she expressed her interest in working for him. Upon asking what made his sister become so fiercely loyal to Trump, he replied that their conservative upbringing played a major role in it.

Preston Harp said their mother raised them with the idea of ‘American exceptionalism,’ which he described as the belief that the United States rules the world. He added that his sister embraced that mindset and that Trump’s views are similar to what their mother taught them while they were growing up.

“I think that’s where her infatuation for Trump comes from, honestly, because I don’t think it’s a physical attraction,” he added. “Let’s get real, you know, like, personally, I don’t think so.” He added that his sister is the president’s ‘biggest fan,’ which is why she accompanies him everywhere he goes.

He doubled down, saying, “She thinks that he saved her life, so, like, somebody living with that kind of gratitude, that must feel pretty good.” During an episode of The Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head podcast, host Michael Wolff said that Natalie Harp left Trump a set of notes, describing them as “love letters” that were left in his “private spaces.”

He explained that she would leave him notes in a massive “pile of papers,” often containing personal messages for him. Wolff said one of the notes contained unusual language suggesting that Trump had punished her. Co-host Joanna Coles believed those letters were “motivational love notes”

However, Wolff disagreed, claiming that the tone of the notes suggested she wanted to ‘climb into bed’ with the 80-year-old. He clarified, “She doesn’t say this, but that’s the tone of this: ‘I love you. I exist because of you. I exist only in your shadow.’”

Preston Harp Addresses His Sister’s ‘Obsession’ With Leaving Notes for Trump

During the same segment of CNN Outfront, the host discussed the bizarre story of Natalie Harp riding in the trunk of an SUV. Upon hearing about the incident, Preston Harp burst out laughing and said he did not know it had happened.

He called her actions “kind of sad,” describing it as an “unhealthy obsession with someone if you’re going to jump into the trunk of their car.” Burnett also discussed Harp’s reported habit of leaving notes for Trump in his personal spaces. Her estranged brother said her ‘obsession’ with writing letters had existed since she was 16.

He noted that he had not seen the letter himself, but said he was certain she had written a letter to former President George W. Bush during the Iraq War and never received a reply. “She’s written letters to other presidents, let me put it that way. And so, like, her dream came true finally,” he concluded.
