First lady Melania Trump’s living situation was revealed in a report that claimed there’s “no room for her” at the White House.

President Donald Trump’s wife has largely remained out of the public eye during his second term in office, which has raised questions about where she lives most of the time. Melania, 56, has been seen in public since she attended the FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19. She was photographed next to Donald, 80, at the international soccer tournament. However, she has been noticeably absent from high-profile events in recent weeks.

Journalist Michael Wolff — who rose to prominence for authoring four books about Donald’s political career as president — posted an article on his Substack Howl on Monday, August 17, in which he wrote, “Melania Trump does not live in the White House. Other than at ceremonial occasions, or in a strictly official capacity, she has given up the role of wife. Practically speaking, there is no room for her." It comes after Melania was branded "America's worst mother" as her son Barron's questionable friendship was revealed.

Wolff also wrote about how Donald is constantly seen alongside his blonde aide, Natalie Harp, 35, who serves as his executive assistant.

“Trump is, in virtually every instance, attached to Natalie Harp,” Wolff wrote in the post. “A would-be conservative media talking head, her campaign of reach-out and ingratiation with the Trump circle made her, by 2022, one of the Trump go-fetch-it people. Trump’s 2024 comeback campaign transformed Harp into the central presence in his life.”

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s book Regime Change claimed that Trump said early in his second term that Harp “was the only one who loved him as much as his wife and his kids.”

They also claimed that Harp would leave letters for the presidents, one of which said, “You are all that matters to me,” according to the book. Harp has been given the nickname of "human printer," as she reportedly prints out drafts of social media posts for the president's approval.

When the Daily Beast reached out for a comment on Wolff's Substack article about Melania, White House spokesman Davis Ingle told the outlet, “Michael Wolff is a professional scumbag and serial liar with s--t for brains.”

While Melania has kept a lower profile, Harp is frequently photographed alongside the president in Cabinet meetings and on trips. Harp was chosen as one of three aides to join the president on the military jet during the secret plane-swap incident when he was leaving the NATO summit in Turkey last month.

Melania’s absence has left many to wonder where she is during her husband’s second administration.

Before Donald’s second inauguration in January 2025, Melania was asked by Fox News in an interview where she planned to spend the term.

“I will be in the White House,” she said at the time. “And, you know, when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be there. But my first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife. And once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country.”

According to a new Daily Beast analysis, Melania was only seen in public 47 times in 2025 after her husband’s inauguration, and only 38 days during the first seven months of 2026.

Melania noticeably missed Senator Lindsey Graham’s funeral and the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Dinner, both of which took place in July.

It comes after a lip reader spotted Melania's 3 stern commands to her husband that revealed their power dynamic.
