Kristen Doute is opening up about her daughter’s recent health scare.
The Valley star, 43, posted a snap on her Instagram Stories of her baby girl Kaia, whom she welcomed in June 2025, resting after a visit to the emergency room. Doute, who shares her daughter with fiancé Luke Broderick, 35, shared that her little one had a “super high” temperature, calling the entire situation the “scariest part” of motherhood.
“Little angel had a super high temp last night and we took her to the ER. this is the scariest part of being a mama 🙏🏼,” she wrote on Monday, Aug. 17.

The difficult experience comes a few months after the reality TV star and her fiancé celebrated their baby girl’s first birthday. In June, Doute and Broderick hosted an Under the Sea-themed birthday party for their daughter’s big day, put together by their good friend and costar Brittany Cartwright, 37.
The party featured a soft play area for the kids, a swing set and a pool. There was also a table where guests could “adopt” a stuffed sea animal to take home with them. Doute and Broderick also provided pizza for the kids and guests, as well as a charcuterie board and Avaline Wine for the adults.
“Luke and I feel like we are finally out of survival mode and can truly enjoy Kaia now, celebrating all her little milestones,” Doute told PEOPLE at the time. “She’s getting ready to walk, she has six teeth, she is so smart and inventive. I’m just in awe of how curious she is and how she tries to figure out every little thing.”
“Britt threw my baby shower for me, and so when I asked if she could also throw Kaia’s birthday, she said she would love nothing more,” added Doute. “It was her party planner, and from day one she was sitting with me going through my Pinterest and hand-selecting every detail.”
One of the moments that Doute was looking forward to most was seeing her daughter smash her first birthday cake. But the proud mom said she wasn’t sure Kaia would be excited about it.

“I’ve heard so many parents talk about the smash cake and how their kids were just not into them, so I was really looking forward to seeing how Kaia would act,” she shared.
Luckily, her daughter was a natural.
“She was like, ‘Let’s get down!’ That truly was my favorite part of the day, along with all my friends who brought their kids to swim and to just celebrate Kaia,” explained Doute. “It was such a sweet day.”

Back in June 2025, Doute confirmed on Instagram that she and Broderick welcomed their first baby together.
“We’ve never known a love like this until you,” she wrote in a post on Friday, June 13.
In the post, which featured a small glimpse of her little one, Doute also shared her baby girl’s name.
