- "I hope I wake up from this nightmare soon," Sami wrote in a statement.

- She also shared an image of a heart-shaped cloud she saw in the sky shortly after Muldoon died.

Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's oldest daughter, Sami Sheen, has shared an emotional tribute to Patrick Muldoon.

Muldoon died at age 57 on Sunday, and Sami opened up Tuesday about the pain of losing him in a two-slide Instagram Story. In the slides, she shared photos and videos of Richards interacting with her ex-boyfriend, longtime friend, and frequent onscreen collaborator.

"Patrick was someone that everyone loved. he was so quick witted and humble but still made sure everyone knew he was a rockstar and never cared what people thought about him. from day 1 till the last day I saw him, he's never changed," Sami wrote. "I've been lucky enough to grow up with him and i have yet to live my life without him. the friendship him and my mom had was so beautiful & something not many people get to experience."

She wrote "he will be missed every single day" and "I hope i wake up from this nightmare soon."

On the next slide of her post, Sami shared what she felt was a message from Muldoon after his death.

"Right after he passed i was sitting outside begging for a sign from him to let us know that he’s okay and made it to the other side, and then a couple minutes later i looked up and saw this in the sky. can't be a coincidence," she wrote, sharing an image of a heart-shaped cloud overhead.

Sami's statement came shortly after her mother posted her own, lengthy tribute.

"This is so hard for me to put into words. I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family," Richards wrote. "We met in our first acting class, I was 19 never had an acting job and you were 21 a student at USC doing a recurring role on who’s the boss. And here we are. 36 years later. My whole adult life & I don’t know it without you."

Sami was born in 2004 to Richards and Charlie, who were married from 2002 to 2006. Their younger daughter, Lola, also paid tribute to Muldoon following his death.

"I thought you were the one that was supposed be in our lives forever. When I think of my childhood I think of you Pat," Lola posted Monday on social media. "And it's gonna be so weird to go on without you in our lives. You were such a huge part of our family and life will never feel the same, but that's just because of how much you impacted us."

Though Muldoon and Richards ended their romance in the 1990s, they remained close throughout the rest of Muldoon's life.

The pair met while filming Paul Verhoeven's 1997 cult classic *Starship Troopers*, and would go on to appear in several other projects together, including the 2020 family film *Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove *and the 2015 holiday movie* A Christmas Reunion.*

Their final project together, a crime thriller called *Dirty Hands*, is scheduled for release in the near future.

Muldoon** **also guest-starred during Richards' run on *The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills*. In one 2019 episode of the Bravo reality series, he attempted to persuade her to play his love interest in a music video, describing the role as "the hot chick in the video."

"The video is roughly about us," Richards said in the episode, "because I was the girl that got away."
